Esch, Multifunctional building

Location

Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg's second-largest city, is a vibrant hub known for its rich cultural diversity and historical significance. Situated in the southwest, it has transformed from an industrial powerhouse to a modern urban center while preserving its historical charm. The city's diverse population brings a variety of traditions, languages, and cuisines, reflected in its eclectic shops and restaurants. Esch-sur-Alzette's past in the steel industry is visible in preserved landmarks and repurposed industrial site. The city seamlessly blends old and new, with well-preserved historical buildings and contemporary architecture.

    Concept

The multifunctional building project is situated on a bustling commercial pedestrian street. The ground floor features retail space with large display window, creating an inviting storefront. The upper floors are thoughtfully designed to shield residents from the constant gaze of passersby. Our intention was to transmit a powerful message through this facade and produce a new image for this bustling street while incorporating this building into its new context.
