Schandel is a charming village located in the commune of Useldange in western Luxembourg. Nestled within picturesque landscapes, Schandel is part of the scenic Attert Valley, known for its lush greenery and tranquil environment. The village exemplifies the serene rural charm of Luxembourg, with a close-knit community. The cruciform shape of the plot invited us to locate the building in “second position”. This implantation is forcing visitor to walk through a long brutal concrete path in order to enter the house. The North facade of the building, facing the street has two large angle openings, exposing beautiful views from the kitchen and owner’s office. The Southern facade looks into the inner garden with the swimming pool, inviting visitors to jump in after a hot Luxembourgish day. The house includes specific elements such as circles and curves. For example, the living room of the house doesn’t have one of the corners, instead, walls here are roundish. The facade is a reflection of this element. Two huge round windows (1.6m diameter) are crossing the building from the same lateral points.
