The 2015 Gorkha Earthquake in Nepal caused significant consequences, resulting in destruction of up to 80 % of schools in the Salleri Village, where our project is located. The problem has become serious, children are currently unable to study and they no longer have the capacity to welcome orphaned children. Buildings with those functions that are still in good condition are extremely overcrowded.

A site has been proposed by local authorities for the development of an orphanage. Our office took initiative to provide the architectural design on a charity basis, on behalf of the association France Solukhumbu Nepal Children Home. The design of the project reflects the traditional style of the village and takes into account current anti-seismic standards.
